Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification

The most authoritative and widely recognized certification standard for sustainable fishing

MSC certification means achieving the world’s most recognized benchmark for sustainability. The MSC fisheries standard is based on the code of conduct of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations for responsible fishing.

Supported by the ISSF and the WWF, MSC certification represents the world’s best standard for sustainable fishing.

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is a global, voluntary and independent body that supports sustainable fishing practices and defines the standards for the responsible procurement of fish resources. In particular, MSC guarantees that fishing activities are conducted according to three key standards.

Fishing must leave enough fish in the ocean to ensure that the health of stocks is maintained and that fishing can continue indefinitely

Fishing activity must be managed carefully to minimize its impact on the marine ecosystem, allowing marine plants and animals to prosper

Fishing must be responsibly managed by companies and be able to adapt to changing environmental circumstances in compliance with the national and internationals laws in force.

In accordance with ISSF and WWF, we believe that MSC certification is the most authoritative and credible certification for sustainable fishing, and we aim to promote it until it becomes a benchmark for the whole sector.

“Our company’s commitment to protecting the oceans and fishing reserves falls within our social, corporate sustainability project, Responsible Quality. This tangible commitment is made possible thanks to authoritative, internationally recognized partners like the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
It is for this reason that we are so proud of having launched a wide range of MSC certified products in Italy and abroad, over the past few years. These results are proof of our ongoing commitment to achieve 100% MSC certified products or products originating from Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs), targeted at achieving MSC certification, by 2024.”
